TinCup Arts began with the friendship of two co-workers. One has been an avid knitter for many years. The other is a longtime soap, lotion, and other-such-things maker. The knitter, Christie, wanted to hand-craft a gift of lotion for friends attending a knitting retreat.

So, together Christie and Nan, the soap-maker, created a small batch of solid lotion that turned out to be a hit with the knitters. With requests for more lotion, the two decided to take a risk and decided that if they were going to make lotion they were going to carefully choose the best ingredients, as if every batch is being made for friends or family. TinCup Arts was born.

The name TinCup comes from a small Colorado mountain town known by both Christie and Nan. TinCup is a bit off the beaten path and to visit takes planning and a little extra effort. Once you arrive, its fresh clear air and open vistas will inspire and energize you.

Like the town, TinCup Arts is dedicated to clear and conscious choices about our ingredients and our work. We make products that nurture by using simple, familiar, and healthy ingredients.
